Terms of Use
Terms of Use
These terms explain your rights and responsibilities when using Can I Eat. By using the service, you understand and agree to these terms, the related Privacy Policy and applicable subscription rules.
1. Service Description
Can I Eat is an AI food recognition and everyday dietary risk reminder tool. You can use photos, album images or manual food input to receive reminders, reasons and safer eating suggestions based on the dietary focus areas you choose.
The service may include food photo recognition, package/ingredient/nutrition label parsing, common allergy reminders, dietary focus reminders, manual corrections, feedback, subscription access and related supporting features.
2. Not a Medical Service
Can I Eat provides dietary risk reminders and general health information only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. It does not provide prescriptions, medication advice, emergency advice, allergy clearance, nutrition therapy or personalized medical decisions.
If you have a serious allergy, pregnancy-related concern, kidney disease, diabetes, gout, chronic condition, acute symptoms or clinician-provided dietary limits, follow professional advice first. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
3. AI Result Limitations
- Image recognition may be affected by angle, lighting, occlusion, mixed dishes, package text, language, model capability and network conditions.
- AI may not accurately identify every ingredient, allergen, preparation state, portion size, ingredient source or nutrition value.
- Reminders are based on recognizable information, your selected dietary focus areas and server-side rules. They may not be complete, accurate or suitable for every real-world situation.
- For allergy, pregnancy, disease-related diet limits or high-risk situations, rely on full food labels, merchant information and professional advice.
4. User Responsibilities
You must ensure that images, text and feedback you submit are lawful, accurate, food-analysis related and do not infringe others' rights. You may not upload unlawful, infringing, malicious, virus-containing, harassing, hateful or unrelated content.
You understand and agree that dietary choices based on service reminders are your own responsibility. The service does not replace your own verification of food labels, ingredient sources, merchant information or personal health circumstances.
5. Accounts, Device ID and Subscriptions
The current version may not require account registration and may use an anonymous device ID for request signing, rate limiting, analysis ownership and subscription association. Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, signatures, security checks or subscription restrictions.
If you purchase Can I Eat Pro or another paid service, pricing, trials, renewals, cancellation and refund rules are governed by the information shown by Apple App Store, Google Play or the applicable payment channel. Auto-renewing subscriptions can be managed or canceled in system subscription settings.
Subscription access may be synced through RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play or other subscription infrastructure. If a store, payment channel or subscription infrastructure is delayed, unavailable or inconsistent, we will make reasonable efforts to help restore purchases or sync access.
6. Privacy and Data
We process your images, text input, dietary focus areas, device ID, subscription status, feedback and technical logs according to the Privacy Policy. By using the service, you understand the related data processing.
7. Permissions and Device Environment
Photo capture, album selection, network analysis, purchase and purchase restoration depend on camera, photo, network, system store and third-party services. You can revoke camera or photo permissions in system settings, but related features may stop working. Can I Eat does not currently integrate with Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect or external medical devices.
8. Service Changes and Interruptions
We may adjust features, copy, rules, models, availability regions and pricing based on product iteration, compliance requirements, model capability, cost, rate limits, security or third-party service conditions. The service may be interrupted due to maintenance, network issues, third-party outages, force majeure or security reasons.
9. Intellectual Property
The software, interface, rule sets, prompts, copy, trademarks, brand elements and related content of Can I Eat are owned by the rights holder. Without permission, you may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, batch call, resell or use them for competing services.
You retain any lawful rights you have in content you submit, but grant us the permissions necessary to provide, maintain, improve and troubleshoot the service.
10. Suspension and Termination
If we detect abuse, bypassing limits, service attacks, unlawful or infringing uploads, bulk calls, impact on service stability or violation of these terms, we may reasonably restrict, suspend or terminate related access.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Can I Eat is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee that recognition results, reminders, service availability, third-party services or data processing will be fully accurate, complete, timely, secure or suitable for your specific circumstances.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential losses caused by reliance on service reminders, ignoring professional advice, failing to verify ingredients or third-party service failures.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms and dispute handling are governed by the laws applicable to the service operator. If local consumer law gives you non-waivable rights, these terms do not limit those statutory rights.
13. Updates
We may update these terms. Material changes may be announced through the app or website. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated terms.
